On the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, we want to highlight the efforts we have made in this field. Our group, led by Dr. Carolina Armengol, is a pioneer in translational research on hepatoblastoma (the most common liver cancer in childhood) in Spain. With over 20 years of exclusive dedication to understanding this disease, our goal is to enhance the quality of life and survival of patients by identifying biomarkers and therapeutic targets, thereby improving its clinical management. To carry out these studies, a unique biorepository in the world has been established, thanks to the support of hospitals, patients, and their families.
We express our gratitude to KickCancer and the supporters Imagine for Margo - Children without Cancer, Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner (help for children with cancer), CRIS contra el Cáncer, Federazione italiana Associazioni Genitori e Guariti Oncoematologia Pediatrica hashtag
Special thanks also to our partners: University of Nottingham, LMU Klinikum München, Istituto di Ricerca Pediatrica Città della Speranza and Prinses Máxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie.
